Mangaroa School was opened in 1914.
Mangaroa School has always been a small country school with low pupil numbers but administered in its own right. The school should not be confused with the first name of Te Marua School spelt as Maungaroa and/or Mungaroa. The Mangaroa School publication is held at Upper Hutt Library.
